Contest Details
Recipes submitted online from July 16-–August 23, 2010. Three finalists will be contacted on or before September 2, 2010 with instructions on the Ultimate Crab Challenge to compete for the winning $1000 prize and menu inclusion, and the finalist prizes at the Maryland Seafood Festival on Saturday, September 11, 2010, 12:30-1:30pm. Recipe Submission Guidelines

The following guidelines describe how you can participate by submitting, rating, and/or reviewing a recipe and the guidelines regarding your participation. Please review these guidelines carefully. If you do not agree with any of the terms or are unable to follow these guidelines, do not participate. Your participation constitutes acceptance of these guidelines.

When you submit a recipe, the recipe must:

Be your original creation and must not be copied in whole or in part from any other work.
Not violate or infringe any copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other proprietary right of any person or entity.
Be your sole and exclusive property.
Be written in the English language.
Not contain or depict any objectionable, unlawful, defamatory, obscene, sexually explicit, threatening, abusive, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, threatening, vulgar, racially or ethnically-motivated, or any other objectionable material, as determined by Phillips in its sole and absolute discretion.
Not contain or transmit any materials that contain software viruses or other computer code, files or programs that impair, limit, interfere with or cause harm to any communications network.
Not contain any material that creates criminal or civil liability or encourages conduct that constitutes a criminal offense.

Phillips reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, modify or suspend this feature of the Web Site for any or no reason at all.

Ownership of Recipes: All submitted recipes become the sole property of Phillips and will not be returned. Phillips has a nonexclusive license, in perpetuity, to the recipes and any ideas, concepts, copyrighted material and trademarks contained in recipe and any and all rights to the recipe's content become the sole property of Phillips and may be used by Phillips without further notice or compensation to participant. Participant unconditionally assigns and transfers to Phillips all rights, title, interest, and claim, which he or she now has, or may in the future have to his/her recipe and grants Phillips and those acting under their authority the right to use the recipe throughout the universe, in whole or in part, on and in connection with this web site, for any trade advertising or promotional purposes whatsoever, in all media now known or hereafter discovered throughout the universe. Participants who submit any recipes that are posted on this website and/or used by Phillips for advertising purposes or any other manner as described therein will not receive compensation.

Recipe Submission Guidelines
The following guidelines describe how you can participate in the 2010 Ultimate Crab Challenge crab recipe contest. Please review these guidelines carefully. If you do not agree with any of the terms or are unable to follow these guidelines, please do not participate. Your participation constitutes acceptance of these guidelines.

2010 ULTIMATE CRAB CHALLENGE CONTEST (THE "CONTEST") OFFICIAL RULES

1. Recipe must use l lb of Crab Meat as the main ingredient.  Any grade of meat is acceptable.  Recipe may be a cold or hot item.

2. There is no limit to the number of entries per household.

3. Finalists will be notified on or before September 2, 2010.  To compete for the $1000 prize, finalists must appear at the Maryland Seafood Festival to prepare entry for judges.

4. Your recipe must state number of servings.

5. Preparation time at the festival (including cooking time) must be 30 minutes or less.  You may prep items ahead of time.

6. To submit your recipe online, your recipe must be submitted between 12:01 a.m. July 16, 2010 up to 11:59 pm EDT, August 23, 2010 using the on-line entry form.  Recipes will also be accepted by mail and must be received at Phillips Foods, 1215 E. Fort Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21230 by 5 pm  on Monday, August 23, 2010.

7. Recipes submitted must be the original creation of entrant; entrant’s recipe must not have been published previously in the same or substantially the same form.  Entrant cannot have won prizes or awards in other contests for the submitted recipe.  Recipe can not have appeared on any restaurant menu in the past.

8. All ingredients must be in English in exact US measurements with complete instructions and relevant information.

9. Recipes will be judged on taste, ease in preparation, creativity and clarity of cooking instructions. The winning recipe will be selected by a panel of chefs and employees from Phillips and Giant Food.  Decisions of the judges are final.

10. Finalists must abide by the following additional rules:  Originally submitted recipe must be made or assembled at the Maryland Seafood Festival on September 11, 2010 for judging, at a time to be determined by Phillips.  Finalists will be given 30 minutes and access to one electrical plug to utilize cooking appliances that work off (1) 8 volt electric outlet.  Finalists must bring all prep, serving and cooking appliances to the Cook-Off.  Finalists will be given a 6ft. table for their preparation.

11. All entries become the property of Phillips Foods, Inc. and will not be acknowledged or returned.  Participant unconditionally assigns and transfers to Phillips all rights, title, interest, and claim, which he or she now has, or may in the future have to his/her recipe and grants Phillips and those acting under their authority the right to use the recipe throughout the universe, in whole or in part, for any trade advertising or promotional purposes whatsoever, in all media now known or hereafter discovered throughout the universe.

12. Entries must not contain or depict any objectionable, unlawful, defamatory, obscene, sexually explicit, threatening, abusive, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, threatening, vulgar, or any other objectionable material, as determined by Phillips in its sole and absolute discretion.

13. Phillips reserves the right to modify, edit, adapt, publish, or use the entry, including the recipe and any photos or other graphics sent to Phillips, in any way, in any and all media without limitation and without consideration or payment to the entrant.

14. Phillips reserves the right to post entries on their websites at the conclusion of the contest.  Finalists authorize and give full consent to Phillips to copyright, publish and display all photographs taken by or for Phillips, or given to Phillips in connection with this contest.  It is further agreed that Phillips may use, or cause to be used, my photograph and/or likeness for any purpose connected to this contest.

15. Phillips shall have no responsibility for lost, late, or misdirected entries or for problems or technical malfunctions of any telecommunication network, the internet, its website or any computer system. In the event of a dispute over the identity of an individual who submits a recipe via mail or online, the entry will be deemed submitted by the holder of the email account or mailer of the entry.  Phillips reserves the right to cancel the online portion of this recipe contest in the event that the online operation of the contest becomes impaired for any reason.

16. Contest is open to all residents of the U.S.A. who are of legal age to participate in the state in which they reside, or a minimum of 18 years of age, whichever is greater.  Employees of Phillips and Giant Food, affiliates of Phillips and Giant Food and the immediate family members of such employees are not eligible to participate.

17. Winner will be selected on September 11, 2010 at the Maryland Seafood Festival based on a cook off at the event.  Your recipe must be able to be prepared at the Maryland Seafood Festival based on guidelines above.

18. All federal, state, provincial, local and other taxes on prizes are the responsibility of the winner.

19. Contest is void where prohibited by law, or where restricted so that this contest would violate any law.  No purchase or payment is necessary to enter or win.  Phillips reserves the right to disqualify any entrant that it believes has violated the laws of the jurisdiction in which the entrant resides.  All federal, state, provincial and local laws and regulations apply.

20. The recipe and any photos or other graphics submitted must not violate or infringe any copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other proprietary right of any person or entity, must be your sole and exclusive property, must not contain or depict any objectionable, unlawful, defamatory, obscene, sexually explicit, threatening, abusive, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, threatening, vulgar, racially or ethnically motivated, or any other objectionable material, as determined by Phillips in its sole and absolute discretion and must not contain or transmit any materials that contain software viruses or other computer code, files or programs that impair, limit, interfere with or cause harm to any communications network.

21. To the extent permitted by applicable law, any personal or other contact information collected in conjunction with this contest will be used to notify the winner and may be used to develop new recipe features on our website.  By entering the promotion, unless otherwise advised, each entrant also agrees that Phillips may use this information, or disclose it to other organizations that may use it, in any media for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes without any further reference, payment or other compensation to the entrant, including sending the entrant electronic messages.   Entrants’ personal information may be disclosed to applicable governmental authorities and the winner’s name published as required under the relevant lottery or sweepstakes legislation.

22. By participating in the Contest, entrants agree to release and hold Phillips and Giant Food and their affiliated companies, and any of their employees, officers, directors, or agents, harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims, and actions of any kind in connection with the Contest or resulting from acceptance, possession or use of any prize, including without limitation, personal injuries, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy.

23. The Contest may be terminated by Phillips at any time without prior notice in its sole discretion.
