Phillips Seafood Empanadas and Crab & Mozzarella Arancini Selected as Finalists in the 2025 Seafood Excellence Global Awards

Baltimore, MD, USA – May 2, 2025 – Three products by Phillips Foods have been selected as finalists for the 2025 Seafood Excellence Global Awards: Seafood & Zesty Lime Empanadas and Crab & Sweet Corn Empanadas in the Best Retail Product category, and Crab & Mozzarella Arancini in the Best HORECA (Hotel/Restaurant/Catering) Product category. Winners of the competition will be selected and announced at a reception on 6 May during the Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global which will take place from 6 to 8 May 2025 at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue in Barcelona, Spain.

Inspired by the classic Latin American street food, Phillips empanadas are perfect for an appetizer or a lunch on the go. Phillips Seafood & Zesty Lime Empanadas are packed with a blend of premium wild-caught shrimp and pollock accented by red bell peppers, peas and squash in a crisp, handmade pastry. Dill, lime and hot sauce add just a hint of heat. Phillips Crab & Sweet Corn Empanadas are loaded with premium wild-caught crab meat, red bell peppers, sweet corn and onion in a crisp, handmade pastry. Garlic, coriander and an adobo spice blend add irresistible flavor.

Phillips Crab & Mozzarella Arancini is an appetizing blend of premium crab meat, white rice, mozzarella cheese and spring onion. Each rice ball is handmade in small batches and delicately flavored with aromatic herbs, including garlic, coriander and basil, then dipped in a crunchy breading.

The Seafood Excellence Global Awards recognizes the best seafood products represented at the Expo.
